New Jersey Homeschool Fair
Connect. Encourage. Learn. Grow.
To connect homeschooling families to each other and their community.
To encourage one another by providing opportunities to foster relationships with other homeschooling families.
To learn and move forward in the homeschooling journey through speaking engagements, life together, educational tools and materials.
To grow the homeschooling community by spreading the word about available classes and opportunities to serve in the surrounding communities.
My thoughts of becoming a homeschool mom were daunting. Where did I start? Were there others like me?
What were we going to do? How was I going to get connected?
My fears were allayed the instant we started; it was as if by magic! We started meeting fellow homeschoolers, finding them in the most obscure places. We discovered classes everywhere. Opportunities where we could learn and grow. Museums, libraries, businesses, and many places to connect.
How to teach? What curriculum? Where to start? First it seemed there was nothing, suddenly it was overwhelming the amount of choices available to me. Some for free, some at a cost, some offered by other fellow homeschoolers!
My vision for this event is to bring together Homeschoolers from around the local and surrounding area. Businesses that provide homeschool classes, curriculum sellers who will share their knowledge, Moms who want to connect. There are homeschool co-ops who wish to share their organization, events and happenings and next step colleges with High School options. I desire to provide a meeting place and seminars that might help encourage and educate us moms in our homeschool journey.
Discovering and connecting with businesses, homeschool curriculum vendors, museums, clubs, co-ops and fellow homeschool moms was pivotal to success in my homeschooling journey. It is now time to pass it forward, let’s pass the torch!
We want to hear from you, if you offer options to homeschooling families in any capacity or are interested in jumping in! Sell curriculum? We need you! Offer a class? Let us know. Are you a parent wishing to know more or join our team?
We would love to connect with you.
I am truly excited to share this opportunity and can’t wait for you to join me!

Lisa Hoffecker – Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer
Lisa has served in ministry as pastor’s wife with her church for 10 years. Born and raised in South Jersey, Lisa is a devoted follower of Christ and mother to two teenage daughters, one in college and one in high school. She homeschooled her children for their first seven years of school which was followed by enrollment into a private, classical Christian school. There she took on the role of teacher’s assistant and art teacher. Later, her children chose to go to a public high school, where they were both recognized as honor students and accepted into the National Honors Society (a proud moment for this homeschool mom indeed). Lisa’s unique experience with her children’s schooling has given her insight into the many facets of education in America. She hopes her story will inspire parents to have the courage to lead their families as they see fit no matter what constraints society puts on them. Lisa has served as executive director to CHEC (Christian Home Educator’s Co-op), is a mentor to young adults, and is available for speaking engagements. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys gardening, crocheting, baking and volunteering in her community.
MaryPat Purcell-Director of Philanthropy

She is involved with the Mullica in the Pines Historical Society and A spot of Teal, which is an organization formed with the intent to help increase the number of ovarian cancer survivors through quilt making. MaryPat is looking forward to increasing her knowledge about home education through the many seminars being offered through NJHSF.
